FSQA Technician

We are looking for an experienced FSQA Technician to join our rapidly expanding team in the Portland area! Openings available in two locations:

Ajinomoto Toyo Frozen Noodles (6500 N. Marine Dr. Portland, OR 97203)

Ajinomoto Frozen Foods North America, Inc. (7124 N. Marine Drive, Portland, OR)

Starting pay $21.00/hr.

In this role, you will ensure plant sanitary conditions, and that raw and in-process materials and finished products meet established food safety and quality standards. You will facilitate HACCP verification activities and will practice good laboratory standards and perform microbiological and environmental testing of product and food contact surfaces.

You will

• Make decisions to accept of reject area equipment, products or materials when deemed insanitary, possibly contaminated, or if the product does not comply with company specifications.
• Participate and report on pre-operational and operational audit programs.
• Carry out line checks and all verification processes.
• Verify all critical control points and control points for all processes in accordance with plant HACCP and GMP programs.
• Assist in the monitoring of raw material and finished product specifications; maintain and report raw material and finished goods “HOLD” tag logs.
• Carry out microbiological and chemical analytical tests on finished goods, environmental and other contact surfaces.
• Prepare pre-shipment approval reports.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and timely.
• Review and modify the HACCP and SSOP programs along with other necessary paperwork.
• Taste test finished goods for sensory evaluation.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.

You have

• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university; or at least two years of relevant experience
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
