Kaplan Early Learning Company is seeking to hire a Freight Segregation Supervisor

Job Hours: Monday - Friday / 7:00am - 3:45pm (overtime as needed, including weekends)

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Our Freight Segregation Supervisor contributes to the overall success and profitable growth of the company by helping to organize and maintain a strong, well trained, motivated and collaborative work force in Freight Segregation while also performing Freight Segregator position duties with staff members.

Position Responsibilities Include:

• Effectively manage a team of up to 10 15 staff members by providing direction that establishes a clear understanding of the performance expectations for policies, procedures and safety requirements.
• Assist in planning, organizing and separating multiple shipments by ship-to address while ensuring the accuracy and order integrity of each shipment. Palletize and shrink-wrap completed shipments and load each shipment daily onto the correct carrier. Meet daily demands to ensure all shipments are loaded out on a daily basis.
• Maintain pallet counts for each TL shipment, combining pallets picked on subsequent days into one lane and ensuring all pallets are loaded.
• Track and comb multiple orders for the same shipment.
• Responsible for ensuring the Freight Segregators are actively engaged to meet weekly production goals and customer demand.
• Work directly with management to create maximum efficiency with Freight Segregation.
• Identify any obstacles that are preventing goal achievement.
• Ensure safety and quality standards are maintained at all times, including the completion of pre-shift forklift inspection.
• Engage and motivate employees in achieving production goals.
• Assist with managing employee attendance.
• Complete performance reviews for Freight Segregators.
• Work directly with Warehouse Manager to report any concerns problems with quality, equipment, process, material and labor.

Position Requirements Include:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 - 5 years supervisory experience in a warehouse environment.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency is preferred.
• Good basic math, reading and matching skills in English.
• Proven management/leadership abilities and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Good planning and organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to safety operate a forklift and be comfortable selecting stock from 20' high-reach racks.
