Front Desk Clerk (Westlake Aquatic Center)
Job description
Under the direction of the Pool Supervisor, Assistant Aquatics Manager and/or the Aquatics Manager, the individual in this position is responsible for all money transactions involving daily fees, pool passes and concessions. This individual will be signing in all patrons, making sure patrons follow pool rules upon entering the pool property, responsible for cleaning the guard house and pool office on a daily basis and assisting in emergency action plan.

- Process memberships, daily visits and program registrations
- Checking patrons into center
- Answering phones, filing and other general office responsibilities
- Assisting patrons with any information and/or questions
- Ability to positively interact with the general public
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively, especially via telephone
- Ability to act quickly and remain calm in emergency situations
- Must have good organizational skills and be a self-starter
- Comfortable with monetary transactions
- Must be able to work with large numbers of people in a highly diversified atmosphere
- Have an understanding of aquatic center rules, policies and procedures
- Leadership, decision making and public relation skills
- Must be available and flexible to work various hours including mornings, evenings and weekends
- Completes additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills
- Experience in a parks and recreation setting desired
Tools and Equipment Used:
- Variety of general office equipment (fax machine, copier, computer, cash register, etc.)

- Walk, sit, talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, use legs and arms
- Occasionally required to climb or balance; bend over, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally lift, and or move 50 pounds or more
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus

- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately noisy and the conditions are often damp, wet and humid
