What is the job?

We are looking for a pleasant Front Desk Guest Service Agent to undertake all receptionist and clerical duties at the desk of our main entrance. You will be the “face” of the company for all visitors and will be responsible for the first impression we make.

The ideal candidate will have a friendly and easy going personality while also being very perceptive and disciplined. You should be able to deal with complaints and give accurate information. A customer-oriented approach is essential.

The goal is to make guests and visitors feel comfortable and valued while on our premises.

Your day to day:

  • Welcome guests in a friendly, prompt, and professional manner recognizing IHG Rewards Club Members and returning guests.
  • Check guests in, Issue room key, provide information on hotel services and room location.
  • Ensure required identification is taken from guests at check-in in line with local legislative requirements
  • Answer record and process all guest calls, messages, requests, questions, or concerns.
  • Record guests' addresses and other information in the Opera PMS system.
  • Check guests out, including resolving any late or disputed charges.
  • Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions using established procedures.
  • Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or follow up.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Proven experience as front desk representative, agent or customer service.
  • Familiarity with office machines (e.g. fax, printer etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel and Word)
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Problem-solving skills
  • High School diploma; additional qualifications will be a Bilingual a plus!
