St. Thomas Surgicare is embarking on a search for a detailed and efficient payment posting professional. The ideal individual also has insurance billing experience.St. Thomas Surgicare performs a broad range of outpatient surgical procedures. The team is comprised of highly trained, caring professionals who share the mission to care for every patient and their family as if they were our own.
Job Description and Duties
Inspect patient files, accurately bill for each procedure.
Identifies, researches, and ensures timely processing of payments and error corrections.
Ensures appropriate documentation of payments, allowances, denial, rejections, are recorded on individual accounts
Reports problems and issues to the Business Office Manager status of workload for the payment posting
May generate reports on a routine basis
Balance cash
Correct all payment and other rejections within 7 calendar days or continue to document efforts to resolve each account
Performs other duties as assigned, required or requested

Required Skills:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Three plus (3+) years’ experience in payment poster role
Detailed knowledge of healthcare, billing and medical insurance
Familiar with patient accounting software, AdvantX experience is ideal
Intermediate knowledge of Internet Explorer, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Longevity in past roles.
Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.
