Administrative General Manager


The General Manager will orchestrate the activities of every department and the contributions of each team member, to manage all aspects into a unique combination that will provide the greatest experience a guest can have.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new hotel staff
  • Oversees the daily operations and staffing of the hotel
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with hotel policy


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and oversees all hotel operations, ensuring quality service is provided within the established business plan and budget.
  • Greets and welcomes guests.
  • Works to resolve issues or problems that guests may experience.
  • Is proficient in all Front Desk systems.
  • Handles special requests and accommodations.
  • Maintains high levels of guest satisfaction through staff training, positive motivation of staff, and required service excellence programs.
  • Responds to all emails and phone calls withing 24 hours of their receipt.
  • Inspects facilities to ensure compliance with applicable brand standards and regulations.
  • Ensures maintenance issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Analyzes financial information, plans purchases and facilitates acquisitions.
  • Coordinates services with outside suppliers, vendors, travel agencies and event planners.
  • Develops and maintains a marketing strategy to promote the hotel and services, especially convention and business functions.
  • Maintains required brand Guest Service Scores.
  • Generates and submits payroll for team members according to the set payroll processing timeline.
  • Develops cash control procedures and ensures accounting and reporting are accurate.
  • Maintains the responsibility of all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions of the hotel.
  • Makes sure that all deposits are made on a daily basis, unless ownership specifies a different schedule, and always scanning the validated deposit slip to the Director of Operations.
  • Participates in Revenue Management and Forecasting reporting weekly and distributes to the predetermined recipients.
  • Ensures that an aging report is transmitted to the Director of Operations on a weekly basis, with updates on all accounts over 60 days.
  • Participates in the production of an annual budget for the operation of the hotel, with first draft being due November 1st.
  • Ensures that all Brand standards are adhered to and is prepared for Quality Assurance Inspection any day.
  • Oversees Sales activities and systems.
  • Inspects a pre-set percentage of total rooms each week.
  • Oversees Food & Beverage Operations in the hotel if applicable, ensuring all staff is trained and F&B requirements are met.
  • Ensures availability at all times and notifies Management Company and Director of Operations if there will be an absence from work.
  • Stays knowledgeable of fire panel functions and location of water shut off.
  • Follows all OSHA/HAZCOM procedure.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Wears appropriate brand required name tag.

Education and Experience:

One or more years of managerial experience in the hotel industry required

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds at a time
