We need someone with the passion and skills to help fulfill the following roles:
1. Broadband Mapping – The successful candidate must have at least two years of experience developing and maintaining complex GIS data and maps. This includes data editing (preferably including data design and management as well), map production and web or mobile map creation. Strong experience with the ESRI technology stack is required. Experience using ArcGIS Pro is preferred. This position is responsible for broadband-related mapping coordination, data collection, data analysis, and website decisions. The primary responsibility of this position is to plan, design, implement, and maintain broadband office mapping programs and related data and applications as state resources. This position will work closely with contractors, partners, and colleagues to coordinate broadband- related data collection activities and develop new broadband map layers. This position will provide technical support for Office and resident questions related to the state broadband map and website. This position will work with Office staff, contractors, Kentucky Infrastructure Authority personnel, and other partners to handle maintenance, updates and troubleshooting of the broadband map, dashboard, website, as well as future data collection efforts. This position will be responsible for updating, analyzing and interpreting large data sets related to broadband access, affordability, and adoption in the state.
2. Other duties as assigned – The Office is looking for a candidate with a natural interest and skills in data design and management. The successful candidate should have demonstrated work examples that include data design, implementation, and management. Ideally, this would include the creation of metadata and other elements of data governance. Additionally, other duties within some of the following areas may become part of the successful candidate’s work:
a. Geodatabase Management
i. Creation and maintenance of ArcGIS file-geodatabases.
ii. Loading spatial data into enterprise geodatabases.
iii. Performance of advanced editing and spatial queries using ArcGIS.
b. Cloud-based geospatial content management
i. Publishing of GIS feature classes on ArcGIS Online.
ii. Creation of webmaps and feature services using ArcGIS Online.
iii. Configuration of dashboards and simple applications on ArcGIS Online.
c. Automation using
i. Python.
ii. ArcGIS Notebooks.
iii. DOS and other command line interfaces.

i. Attention to detailmust be able to identify and solve problems/errors before they reach to customer. This aspect impacts all phases of project and operations work. The candidate must be able to work efficiently within the timeframes demanded by the other work commitments.

The solution must streamline business processes, assure data integrity, and improve Office effectiveness through spatial data and technology. Solutions must solve not only the local project need, but also support the larger enterprise needs/objectives.

Salary: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
