As a GIS Technician, you will prepare Outside Plant (OSP)/telecommunications drawings for fiber construction and permit packages to join our team.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE?

· Utilize GIS software to draft clear, detailed, and complete drawings with accurate detail that incorporates design inputs, sketches, field notes, and permitting ordinances

• Create new base maps and post existing system maps from available records.
• Assist with the revision/acceptance of internal GIS work requests.
• Coordinate with other technicians and analysts in various data development, update, and project support initiatives.
• Complete drawings with accurate detail that incorporates permitting ordinances, design inputs, sketches, and field notes.
• Create Drawings packages to be used for construction or permit applications.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Associate degree in Drafting and Design Technology is desired.

· 3-5 years of experience in OSP design or civil engineering design using GIS software. Any knowledge and experience of other drafting programs is a plus.

· Experience in software such as ArcGIS/FM, 3GISLive, QGIS and/or other GIS Fiber Management software is preferred

· Expertise using GIS software products, especially ArcMap and/or QGIS.

· Working knowledge of geospatial coordinate systems.

· Proficient in MS Word, Excel, MS Project.
