The Global Brand Director is a leader and storyteller, with strong brand marketing and communications experience and the unique ability to align brand message to target audiences and business objectives. The role will work cross-functionally to develop, collaborate, and execute the brand vision across all channels—product, creative, marketing and PR. This role will work closely with other company leaders to advance the brand, grow the community, and establish the company as the most beloved pioneers in bike innovation and design, while fostering a human connection to the Cannondale community. This individual has consumer product experience, global marketing, and communications experience, and understands how to translate product stories into a brand experience and DNA that can be found in an omnichannel presence that encompasses retail/IBD, digital, and most importantly, in marketing and communications channels where preservation of brand integrity is paramount.
The Global Brand Director empowers and collaborates with:
- The CMO & Global Marketing Director and team to create on-brand campaigns and define brand positioning, voice, and target audience,
- The product team to provide marketing and brand insights,
- The global creative team to establish on-brand and impactful visual storytelling.
- This individual may, from time to time, collaborate with HR to establish a solid set of values to define brand culture.
Most importantly, the Global Director of Brand defines the brand blueprint and collaborates with Global Marketing to put that plan into action in a tactical and strategic way, every day.
How You'll Contribute:
- With CMO, lead and be accountable for the vision, strategy, and results of brand positioning and campaigns, harmonizing a clear brand message across all channels, online and offline. The goal of this role is to establish the ID of Cannondale and ensure it is constantly and consistently communicated in everything we do, at every touch point.
- Create an environment and process for compelling brand marketing/advertising campaigns to come to life, ensuring campaigns are on-brand, executed on-time, and optimized at different times for experience, press coverage, brand engagement, and overall sales impact.
- Build the marketing plan with the CMO & Global Marketing Director and implement key marketing, sales, and customer-centric initiatives that will grow the customer base, improve retention, and increase the lifetime value of customers.
- Develop and collaborate with creative teams as well as leadership and managers in budgeting and forecasting.
- Inspire a visual level; refine designs; lend a critical eye to all creative, structural, and technical output.
- Foster, inspire and build strong in-house teams whose creative and strategic product rivals that of iconic, successful passion-based brands.
- Responsible for the identification, vetting, and strong relationships with our key business partners, such as branding, PR & creative agencies (when necessary).
- Build and lead Cannondale's brand social impact strategy to bring our "Come Ride with Us" mission to life: Develop the goals, actions, budget, partnerships, assessment framework and other necessary resources used to enact and measure positive change that is systematic, sustainable, and innovative. The goal will be to articulate how we will embed social impact in our company practices, particularly marketing, and lay the foundation for success.

What You Bring to the Table:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience encompassing product, marketing, and communications, with demonstrated expertise in building strong brands and leadership. Experience at a growth phase consumer goods or e-commerce company is a plus.
- Experience as a brand face, spokesperson, and liaison on a regional and global level.
- Understanding of digital channels, creativity, and market feel. A strong marketing background with the ability to recognize great storytelling and visual, and key knowledge of the cycling trend market is a must.
- History of translating customer insights into marketing strategies and messaging that drives revenues and grows customer value.
- Understanding of a fast-paced environment with a "roll up the sleeves" mindset and drive to accomplish what is necessary. Self-starter with the ability to independently lead this segment of the business
- Excellent organizational leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively with peers and external partners.
