JOB MISSION:

As a Global Communications Associate, you will be a key member of the Global Public Relations team and will help us drive the brand forward as we look to increase our share of voice across earned communications’ vehicles. You will participate in the creation of a seasonal strategy that supports game plan moments as well as drives positive brand energy during key sport and cultural moments. You will work in close partnership with Marketing, Sports Marketing and Product teams to ensure strategies and communications align with established objectives and report and track progress

As a critical contributor to the New Balance go-to-market process, the Global Communications Associate will help deliver how a Challenger Brand shows up in culture through a modern & disruptive energy-led approach that reflects and reinforces the New Balance brand values and Fearless Independent spirit.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Conceives innovative communications programs across the consumer funnel
• Develops alternative solutions to complex problems and can change direction when current path is not working
• Execute against creative/brand brief and overall creative process with internal & external teams, leading feedback sessions and necessary alignment meetings
• Maintains and fosters relationships within, across, and with external partners; including media
• Has a good understanding of the evolving marketplace, media, digital and social platforms
• Helps manage collaboration with vendors: agencies, freelancers, tracking tools, etc.
• Provides short and medium-term goal planning
• Measures work for high level of quality and timeliness
• Create seasonal product press releases/collection hot sheets; develop and distribute press materials
• Interface with product managers, PR agencies and other company associates/departments to develop and execute public relations activities.
• Cultivate relationships with editors at target publications.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in liberal arts, PR/marketing/communications, or related field.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience working in the sports marketing/PR/communications field at an agency or brand environment is required.
• Experience working with publications and journalists.
• Experience in basketball, running, global football and/or tennis preferred.
• Experience in talent management preferred.
• Candidate must be deadline and detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Candidate must have solid oral and written communications skills, including specific writing experience.
• Candidate must be energetic, have a positive “can do” attitude and experience working in a team environment.
• Some travel required – less than 15%.
