Position Summary
Chest pain is one of the top reasons a patient seeks emergency medical attention in the United States. There is significant variation in the care received during both initial evaluation and after the patient leaves the hospital. There are many drivers of this variation, including social determinants of health and structural racism. The Chest Pain Disparities Task Force was convened in 2022 to analyze the care of patients presenting with chest pain at UI Health, and to identify factors which may contribute to variation in outcomes. The multidisciplinary project, led by Drs Lauren Smith, Sam Wainwright, and Shaveta Khosla is moving into the data analysis phase, and seeks the services of a graduate student assistant. This role would be paid at the graduate-hourly rate, without tuition assistance.
