Position Summary:
The Grant Support Specialist is responsible for the pre- and post-award reporting of grants and other sponsored programs. The efforts of this individual include, but are not limited to, assisting leadership and staff with monitoring grant compliance, coordinating, and facilitating grant orientations, meetings and/or trainings. In addition, communication with funding agencies and working in funding agency reporting systems is often required. Assist the Grants Administrator with project/program evaluation design, evaluation data collection and provide guidance regarding types of evaluation (Process, Outcome, Impact, etc…) for insertion in pending grant applications. This position will complete evaluation duties of funded projects as designed or liaise with external evaluators based upon funder requirements. The purpose of this position is to support evaluation components prior to award/during writing and research and post-award actions including reporting. The position will assist with research, survey design and information dissemination regarding results.
Essential Functions:
- Manages post-award activities, including but not limited to:
- Reviewing and communicating award language and related standard terms and conditions to program managers to ensure compliance with award specifications.
- Coordinating and facilitating grant kick-off meetings for new grants with fiscal and principal staff.
- Providing orientations/training to project managers and key administrators regarding grants management of funded programs.
- Creating and managing a system to maintain grants, reports, grant revenues and expenditures; submitting reports/updates timely; monitoring and enforcing compliance with grant guidelines
- Supports active solicitation, and cultivation of major funding agencies such as State and Federal agencies, national corporations, and foundations
- Researches, writes, and edits persuasive, accurate, and grammatically correct solicitations, proposals, reports, and other grant-related communications
- Participates in long and short-term planning to establish and implement development goals and objectives
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Instrument/measure development, survey design and administration, conducting in-depth interviews, focus groups and other active listening events.
- Management and analysis of collected data, including reporting.
- Manage reporting to include technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and security of protected health information collected.
- Knowledge of and adherence to Human Subjects requirements.
- Collaborate with Quality Improvement staff and other departments/disciplines as necessary to accomplish a multi-discipline action or review of action.
- Strong editing and reviewing skills.
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Foundation grants, systems/database platforms and reporting formats

- Adheres to all TFHC, HIPAA, regulatory and accreditation agency rules and regulations
- Cultivates a network of relationships among TFHC staff to facilitate development of grant proposals with the overall goal of improving quality and access to care
Knowledge and Experience:
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with community leaders, business associates and potential funders and partners
- Database management and analysis skills; ability to gather data, compile, analyze and prepare reports
- Strong computer skills in the use of Microsoft products such as Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to foster effective working relationships within a team environment
- Solid time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
- Prior experience with healthcare and federal granting agencies, preferred
Education, Certification Training and License:
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum (3) years’ experience, or equivalent in a combination of education and experience.
