Job Summary: The Grants Administrator serves as the leader in managing all grants efforts. The most crucial responsibility is to identify potential grant support from government agencies, foundations, and corporations to meet the financial and operational needs of BRMC. The Grants Administrator must: be highly aware of the internal workings of the organization to effectively identify appropriate funding opportunities; concisely represent grant opportunities to the management team and collaborates with administration to write proposals, letters of inquiry and grant proposals; communicate with granting agencies, track the status of grant requests and submit evaluation reports to funding agencies always assuring deadlines are met.
May also be assigned to special projects and must demonstrate a sincere dedication and loyalty to the mission, vision and core values of BRMC.
Essential Job Duties and Functions:
- Perform research to identify available grant opportunities and communicate appropriateness to management. Participate in discussions to determine appropriateness for BRMC. Present appropriate grants to the Board for approval as required by HRSA and other funding sources.
- Write grants in a timely manner, allowing for review and collaboration with administration prior to submission.
- Work with finance department for budget development, provide budget reports and follow financial guidelines of funding sources.
- Monitor progress in meeting strategic objectives and key initiatives of grants. Assure critical deadlines are met.
- Provide technical and administrative assistance to staff and administration according to grant guidelines.
- Keep staff informed of upcoming deadlines and deliverables, thereby ensuring smooth completion of work responsibilities.
- Provide timely close out of expired projects through the coordination of financial and administrative departments.
- Stay current on BRMC needs, including strategic plans, programs, equipment, staffing, etc. that could be resolved with grant funding.
- Serve on committees as appropriate to support the mission of BRMC.
- Maintain active accounts for all needed grant-related web-sites including the HRSA-EHB.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience in writing and managing federal grants, preferably in grants.gov.
- Bachelor?s degree in a related field and 2 years of relevant experience in grant writing, and administration required. Master?s degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years in the healthcare field, preferably with a Community Health Center.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
