Description of the Assignment*

Search for Common Ground is seeking freelance graphic designers to assist in the layout and design of training materials. This includes:

• A participant booklet will include pictures and infographics related to the training topics. The anticipated length is 50-55 pages, including the title page and table of contents.
• Powerpoint slides: There will be approximately 300 slides. These will mostly be title slides used to introduce training activities.
• A Facilitator's Guide: This guide will include detailed instructions for training facilitators on conducting the training alongside reference images of the relevant PowerPoint slides. The anticipated length is 155 pages, including the title page and table of contents.

The designer will be provided with drafts of these materials, which will include some sample images. The designer will be responsible for proposing additional appropriate stock images and creating original infographics. Many of the same images and infographics will be used in the participant booklet, PowerPoint slides, and facilitator’s guide. The designer will produce print-ready and digital copies of the training materials and also provide the original art files.

The designer should use a cohesive style for all of these training materials and should work within the instruction on color palette, typefaces, logo usages, etc., from the organization’s Brand and Style guidelines. The designer will work directly with the team that developed the content for the training for direction and feedback and should be prepared to make multiple rounds of revisions.

Timeline

The design process is anticipated to begin in early December 2022 and be completed by January 2023.

Key Responsiblities

1. Generate concepts for page layouts and general outlook of the training materials, including:

2. Produce creative graphics in electronic format, adaptable for use in the production of print and online materials. The designer should provide print-ready and digital copies and original art files.
3. Propose appropriate stock photos to use throughout the training materials
4. Make multiple rounds of amendments/revisions of drafts according to feedback received
5. Ensure consistency of branding and messaging across all visuals

Payment for this project will be based on an agreed-upon flat project cost. It will be made upon confirmation from Search of the satisfactory completion of deliverables and the timely submission of invoices from the designer to Search.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2-5 years of design experience
• Proficient in Adobe CS applications with a focus on InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Strong knowledge in editorial design and digital print production
• Willingness to take direction and constructive criticism and to work with inherited design directions
• Meticulous attention to detail in copyediting and typographic skills
