The Groundskeeper 2 and 3 position maintains the general overall condition of the grounds, parking lots, buildings, and exterior signage at Northern Arizona Healthcare to ensure a safe and attractive campus. This maintenance includes using, maintaining and performing minor repairs of hospital grounds equipment, and the sweeping and general cleanup of all areas not serviced by Environmental Services. When the weather is inclement, the Groundskeeper may be required to assist other maintenance personnel with minor procedures.
Responsibilities:
Grounds Maintenance
- Operates and maintains mowers, edger's weed-eaters, chemical spray equipment, tractors, pruning shears, and other related grounds equipment according to industry accepted standards.
- Maintains all grounds areas and equipment to include patios, parking lots, and exterior signage.
- Fertilizes, waters, trims, and prunes campus foliage to include grass, trees, bushes, and flowers.
- Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs the campus sprinkler system.
- Removes and/or sprays weeds; controls rodents and insects.
- Maintains the campus walking track.
- Perform weekly grounds inspections to identify potential safety concerns.
- Prepares requisitions as required and adheres to cost containment programs.
Compliance/Safety
- Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.
- Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.
- If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
- Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.
Education
High School Diploma or GED- Required
Certificates and Licensure
Valid Driver's License with no moving violations within the prior 39 months- Required

Experience
Minimum 7 years recent experience in grounds keeping with knowledge of plants which do well in this area and the ability to care for same plants - Required
