Overview

St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic School (PK-8), located in Naples, FL,is seeking an experienced, full-time Guidance Counselor. The counselor is a professional member of the school staff who assists the principals in the integration of school-based guidance counseling services for the Catholic school community.

Responsibilities

• Meets with students when needed to provide academic, mental, and emotionalguidance
• Evaluates, monitors and tracks students' individual academic planning and goal setting
• Data analysis to identify student challenges, needs and acting as a systems change agent to improve equity, access, achievement and opportunities for students.
• Short term counseling to students and referrals for long-term support
• School counseling classroom lessons based on student success standards
• Works under the general supervision of the Assistant Principal and Principal butis responsible for maintaining professional standards in accordance with Parishand Diocesan policies and in alignment with Catholic social teachings in theclassroom.
• Collaborates with students, parents, and guardians in a positive and professional manner to establish positive
  relationships
• Facilitates and attends parent and student workshops
• Along with Resource Coordinator serves as coordinator for "Child Find"
• Along with Resource Coordinator serve as standardized testing coordinator
• Provide leadership and development and improvement in all pupil services areas.
• Other duties as assigned by the principal.

• Master's Degree in School Counseling, or a related field, from an accredited
  college or university
• Florida Certification in School Counseling (or be eligible for certification)
• Ability to maintain a high level of computer and technology skill; strong organizational
  skills and ability to multitask
• Possesses a high degree of knowledge in the field of School Counseling and is
  able to convey standard concepts, practices, and procedures clearly and
  accurately
