This role within the US Middle Market leadership team will be our strategic lead for business data and analytics. We are looking to deliver deliver tailored analytics and industry best in class data solutions as a critical component of AXA XL’s US Middle Market strategy. These tailored analytics and innovative data science solutions will shape and influence the strategic direction of middle market, drive risk level decision making and enable superior results.
The Head of Analytics will be is expected to build and execute strategic and operational initiatives, drive best in class solutions to US Middle Market, provide analytical insights and recommendations to leadership and business partners, and share ownership of the business's analytics and data strategy and operations.

What will your essential responsibilities include:
- Assess, prioritize, influence and communicate analytics strategic initiative options to senior leaders.
- Leverage data and analytics to drive and effective Go To Market strategy with our broker/agent partners.
- Demonstrate effective execution and completion of assigned strategic initiatives and projects.
- Independently lead analytics and operational analyses to solve business problems, create efficiencies and apply judgment appropriately.
- Translate business requests into analytical solutions. Utilize data and analytics to drive UW appetite and identify best in class risks.
- Tailor communication of analysis, project results, and other business initiatives to audience.
- Communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences with limited guidance.
- Leads Middle Market discussions within the leadership team on all areas of data and analytics excellence.
- Influence and collaborate with peers and partners to take actions to enhance business outcomes.
- Set and manage expectations with business partners for large projects.
This position will report to the Head of US Middle Market.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
- College degree in STEM related field.
- Proven depth of acumen in Commercial insurance data and analytics.
- Strong understanding of insurance products and industry.
- Demonstrated ability in analysis and statistical concepts.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to challenge conventional thinking.
- Takes ownership of projects related to strategic initiatives and makes recommendations to influence business outcomes.
- Proficient in Leading Self, exhibiting decisiveness and self-awareness while also effectively managing ambiguity.
- Initial development of Leading the Business, including actively engaging in driving business results, broad thinking and promoting an inclusive and engaging culture.
- Has an in-depth understanding and knowledge of certain key business drivers and disciplines such as: underwriting, products, distribution, sales, operations, risk control, claim, and financials.
- Able to effectively utilize this business knowledge in developing and implementing analytic solutions.
- Has a general perspective of the industry and developing trends, including technology, analytic methodology, products, and performance of competitors.
- Aware of potential conflict and address proactively.
- Understands diverse perspectives to effectively accomplish business goals.
- Able to introduce innovative techniques to existing problems.
