The Health Resources Referral Coordinator participates in the daily operations of 1-800-SCRIPPS Call Center. Serves as the front line and is often the first contact with customers. Provides customers with physician referrals and appointments to Scripps affiliated physicians. Provides customers with class, CPR, support group, special event and screening information and registration. Identifies caller needs and provides appropriate service referrals to departments and programs within Scripps, affiliated organizations and community partners. Promotes Scripps and its affiliated physicians and provides an excellent customer service environment so customers want to affiliate and retain their loyalty with Scripps. Utilizes complex, relational computerized physician and class database. Handles difficult customers appropriately. Provides call center services for high volume programs within Scripps.
This is a full-time position based out of La Jolla, working 8 hour shifts Monday-Friday.
Required Qualifications:
- Four years’ experience in health care or customer service, marketing, or clerical/physician office related field.
- Excellent verbal communications and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle difficult customers appropriately.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Computer literacy with Windows and ability to learn and utilize complex physician referral and class registration database effectively.
- Knowledge of basic community services and ability to access resources. Medical terminology, managed care terminology and knowledge of physician office practices. Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, health plans and managed care including an understanding of how to access health care appropriately.
- Flexibility with telework and onsite.
- FOR SPANISH SPEAKING: Fluent in the Spanish language with understanding of medical terminology (written and oral).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Inbound call center experience, experience with Salesforce and EPIC EMR System.
- Two years’ experience in customer service and or health care.
