Responsibilities include ensuring the building, equipment and utilities are maintained in good working order and the facility and grounds are properly maintained in accordance with the facility, local, state, and federal regulation policies. Additional job functions include maintenance projects, supervising maintenance staff if applicable, setting job priorities, and managing the maintenance budget.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma minimum requirement, technical school degree, and/or, valid Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), a plus.
- Two or more years construction trade education or five or more years’ of construction/maintenance experience in the field of healthcare required
- Experience in health care, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, emergency generators, transferring of switches, plumbing, life safety systems, carpentry, dry wall repair, and painting
- Extensive knowledge as it relates to NFPA, OSHA, CMS, State and Local fire codes, preventative maintenance and infection control practices
- Prepare for and participate in annual life safety surveys and mock surveys
- Responds to fire and disaster situations immediately and assist per emergency operations plans.
- Coordinates outside service vendors/contractors and maintenance staff to complete projects as assigned/necessary.
- Maintain logs to ensure IDPH life safety annual survey requirements are being met
- Relate favorably and positively to residents and families and work cooperatively with others
- Basic understanding of computer technology, including email
- Meet all local health requirements: drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry
