Customer Service Specialist / Purchasing Clerk
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: $18-$22/hr (depending on experience)
Contract Length: 9 month contract to hire
Worksite Location: Carson City, NV 98706 – Fully on site
Schedule: 8:00am-5:00pm M-F for first two months of training.
Post training hours will start between 6am-8am for an 8 hour shift Mon-Fri.
Job Description:
We are looking for a knowledgeable Purchasing Clerk who will work cooperatively with the outside sales team, company representatives, and distributors as well as directly with customers to grow existing customers, foster new customers.
Normal Day:
- Entering data for orders working with internal ERP (Epicore)
- Receiving inbound calls from customers with questions regarding repairs, outstanding orders/order status, customer may want tracking information, damaged products return, etc.
- Email communication for internal & customer follow up
- Rerouting calls for – technical questions, financial questions, vendor questions, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming calls and reroute the calls to the correct department or handle the request themselves depending on subject matter.
- Assist with order entry / data entry process.
- Respond to and expedite customer inquiries regarding product selection, placement of orders for standard product and services, requests for prices and quotations and complaints.
- Provide pre-order, build and post-build customer support.
- Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability by means of cross-selling, up-selling, and add-on sales.
- Initiate correspondence and contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints.
- Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.
- Prepare quotations for standard products as required and ensure that the quoted material and the customers’ requirements coincide.
- Access, update and maintain records for individual accounts.
- Communicate to purchasing and production staff any unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products as well as any changes to customer orders.
- Coordinate activities with internal company departments, vendors, and common carriers.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; 2–4 year degree preferred
- Order Entry / Customer Service / Technically Savvy
- 1-2 years’ Customer Service experience preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office software.
- Experience working with ERP system preferred
