Job description
LifeWorks of Austin, TX is looking for an HMIS Support Specialist to join our Housing team! The HMIS Support Specialist oversees internal HMIS database user training for new and current users and oversees quality control of client data related to program management and outcome evaluation. This position works with users to assist in analyzing, identifying and correcting data errors. The HMIS Support Specialist works closely with HMIS Administrator and housing program leadership to address reporting issues including quality assurance and funding requirements. The starting pay for this position is $20.75/hr.
This full time, non-exempt position earns a competitive rate and benefits, including a hybrid work structure; 24 PTO days per year (accrued); 11 paid holidays per year; a premium-free employee medical plan with $100 per month HSA contribution (plus other affordable employee or family medical, dental, and vision options!); a retirement savings plan with 50% match on the first 6% of contributions, and much more!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides training and technical assistance to all HMIS users at LifeWorks. Will onboard and train new database users to ensure accurate data collection, entry, and compliance within the database.
- Provides technical assistance to users and develops technical assistance tools and resources for database users to understand data.
- Provides day to day support to 50+ database users across 14 different housing programs.
- Maintains and verifies data quality and standards in client database for specified programs and works with program staff to address data quality issues in a timely manner.

- Supports performance reporting from HMIS to funders by assisting with running queries, compiling data, and working with staff to correct inaccuracies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires an Associate’s degree;
- Requires 2 years related experience; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Experience working with HMIS, preferably ServicePoint, and a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, preferably Dynamics 365.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
- Has a general knowledge of federal/state/local requirements around the HMIS Data Standards including the following funders/agencies: City of Austin, TDHCA, DHHS, ESG, HUD, RHY, FYSB and YHDP.
