The role of Hospice Aide is to assist terminally ill patients with their personal care requirements, maximizing their activities of daily living, to assist the terminally ill patient in achieving the highest level of comfort and quality of life in their home consistent with their health status. All services to be provided by a home health aide will be provided under the direction of a registered nurse. Written instructions are provided prior to the first contact a home health aide has with the particular patient. Home health aide services will be assessed by a registered nurse every 14 days and as needed to assure that the aide is able to demonstrate satisfactory performance. This position will require you have reliable transportation, in order to meet patients needs at various locations.

Qualifications:

  • 1 year experience as a home health aide or nursing assistant.
  • CNA Certification
  • Successful completion of 75-hour training program or successfully complete a competency evaluation.
  • Able to complete competency testing prior to employment.
  • Current valid MN Driver’s License and daily access to reliable, insured vehicle.
  • Computer literacy preferred.
  • Demonstrates a desire to work with the terminally ill.
  • Ability to demonstrative positive and respectful communication/interaction skills.
