We are looking for a mission driven, compassionate, hardworking beauty professional to help make a difference in the lives of cancer patients! This job is a part time, temporary position ( approximately 6 months, 20 hours per week ) with a possibility of expansion.

Join a team of dynamic makeup artists and estheticians who compassionately support and educate people affected by cancer by providing clean beauty and wellness services to inspire self care.

Lipstick Angels is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We serve patients in hospitals, cancer centers and virtually nationwide. Our oncology trained estheticians and makeup artists create a safe space for patients to feel supported and pampered using only the most clean, non-toxic products to ensure the health and safety of our clients.

The East Coast Program Manager will work closely with the Lipstick Angels National Program Director. The Program Manager will be the key Lipstick Angels leader for all hospital programs in New York City. The manager will operate the Lipstick Angels Hospital Beauty Program that performs its work inside three different Infusion Centers at New York-Presbyterian. As well as being responsible for the recruiting, coordinating and supervising of all volunteers, the Program Manager will act as a liaison between hospital staff, clients, the community, and supporters. They will also work with Lipstick Angels staff in the planning and management of hospital and partner special events.

The Program Manager, when not at the hospital, will be expected to work remotely out of a home office atmosphere.

The Program Manager should reside in a location that allows for reliable commuting to New York City.

Responsibilities:

Lead the volunteer program/services

• Be trained as a Lipstick Angel and administer our signature comprehensive holistic beauty services to patients in NYC hospitals
• Expect to be present in the hospital locations 4 days per week to start. Shifts are 3 hours long. Hours are somewhat flexible, depending on optimal times for the hospital. Shifts are typically mid morning or mid day but hours will vary.
• Manager will be training a team of volunteers to perform Lipstick Angels menu of services
• Help identify, develop and implement creative strategies and recruitment methods to attract and retain a qualified pool of volunteers
• Coordinate with the Hospital Volunteer Department to process applications, background checks, health clearances, etc.
• Lead volunteers through orientation to help them understand the role of the organization and unique requirements for providing services to patients populations
• Ensure that volunteers are appropriately trained to be successful in their positions
• Oversee, stock, maintain and update the hospital makeup kits
• Become knowledgeable about "clean" non toxic beauty and skincare products ( manager will have access to all products that Lipstick Angels uses and will have opportunity to try and test the products we use in our program)
• Receive packages and store back stock of items for hospital makeup kits
• Ensure that volunteers work in a safe, healthy and supportive environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations

Organizational Reporting

• Maintain and report accurate program statistics to Lipstick Angels headquarters
• Use company implemented systems to maintain records and files

Required Skills

• 3-5 years of leadership experience
• Must be a qualified makeup artist and/or esthetician
• Must be comfortable working in a hospital setting with seriously and terminally ill patients
• Must be comfortable taking on responsibility and working independently
• Must complete all hospital required health clearance procedures ( all required vaccines as well as complete COVID vaccines )
• Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently
• Effective planning and organizational skills
• Behave Ethically: Understand ethical behavior and business practices, and ensure that own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of Lipstick Angels
• Outgoing and positive-natured
• Sound decision-making and problem resolution skills
• Effectively communicate with Lipstick Angels staff, volunteers, hospital partners, supports, etc.
• Proficient computer skills ( Google Drive, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
