DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
Work in this class involves the cleaning and minor maintenance of an assigned work area within the NCNG - Raleigh Military Complex. Work in this class involves the cleaning and minor maintenance of an assigned area. Positions perform a variety of duties in the care and cleaning of State facilities. Duties may include physically strenuous activities such as moving furniture, operating heavy cleaning equipment, and delivering large quantities of housekeeping supplies. Work is performed under close supervision, guided by a daily schedule for general assignments and specific instructions for special assignments. Work is reviewed through inspections and frequent consultation with supervisory personnel.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

The salary grade for this position is NC01. State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
Experience with established cleaning procedures and techniques.
Experience with purpose and application of products and equipment used in a cleaning operation.
Experience working on a team and as an independent worker on housekeeping assignments.
Experience with principles and processes for providing customer service.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
No certification or licenses required. Per 5 CFR 731, upon appointment, applicant must be able to obtain a favorable suitability and fitness determination from a Tier 1 background investigation conducted by the Office of Personnel Management. Failure to obtain a favorable determination may result in termination of employment.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Education and/or experience in housekeeping work that is directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices of the trade.
