The Quadrangle Club is the faculty and social club of the University of Chicago. Established in 1893, the Quadrangle Club has played and continues to be an important role in the intellectual fabric and life of the University of Chicago. Over the decades, the Club has been a place where Nobel laureates, faculty and numerous other scholars have hosted discussions about topics and ideas that have shaped the world. The Club is housed in a historic facility designed by Howard Van Doren Shaw.

What you will have an opportunity to do:

BASIC FUNCTION:

Setup and breakdown event rooms, dining rooms, lounge and pre-function space according to event orders, as well as maintain cleanliness standards throughout the facility and grounds.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE:

❖ Must be able to lift, push and pull 70+ pounds.

❖ Housekeeping experience and knowledge of meeting room setup is desirable

❖ Excellent attention to detail and ability to work mobile devices

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assemble and arrange event equipment in event rooms per event order, to the standard set by Event Operations management.

2. Must be able to walk for long periods of time, resulting in an average of 17,000 to 25,000 steps per shift.

3. Must be able to push, pull and lift a variety of tables and other equipment weighing 5-150pounds, consisting of various materials and styles.

4. Interact with guests and address their needs.

5. Daily thorough cleaning of event rooms, common areas, offices, restrooms, following proper cleaning standards including the removal of trash throughout facilities and the restocking of supplies.

6. Ensure storage areas are clean and well organized.

7. Utilize appropriate hardware and software in completion of daily duties.

8. Assist leadership team with monthly, quarterly and/or yearly inventory of equipment and banquet goods.

9. Perform routine tennis court maintenance and properly store equipment.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist guestroom attendants with appropriate duties.

2. Assist guests with luggage.

3. Other duties as assigned by management.
