Military and Veterans Health Solutions under the Leidos Health Group is looking for a Data Analyst to support the Warfighter Performance Department at the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC), in the Applied Translational Exercise and Metabolic Physiology Program. This work includes collecting and analyzing data during active military training in a variety of locations across the United States as well as international locations. This research addresses the needs and concerns of Special Operations’ Warfighters, as well as Expeditionary Forces, to improve performance, enhance sustainment and mitigate injury. Results are delivered through abstracts, presentations, peer-reviewed journal publications, and government technical reports. The Data Analyst will participate in all aspects of research protocol execution related to human performance in military operational environments. The Data Analyst will support the Principal Investigator with design and development of methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze data sources. The Data Analyst will use advanced software programs, algorithms, querying and automated processes to clean, integrate and evaluate datasets. The candidate will work with cross-discipline teams to ensure accurate reports of data analyses and findings. The candidate will identify meaningful insights and interpret and communicate findings and recommendations. The Data Analyst will develop information tools, algorithms, dashboards, and queries to monitor and improve business performance; and maintain awareness of emerging analytics and big-data technologies.
Primary Responsibilities
Requirements include but are not limited to:
Generate and prepare datasets for statistical analyses, develop and test research hypotheses, identify and conduct appropriate statistical analyses such as multiple regression, analysis of variance/covariance, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses.
Develop research proposals, research protocols, presentations, technical reports, and publications.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of R
Be familiar with disciplines such as Predictive Modeling, Statistical Analyses and Hypothesis Testing and appropriately use them in tasking.
Effectively communicate processes and results (verbally, graphically, and in writing) for customers and stakeholders
Develop and maintain collaborative relationships within NHRC and partnering institutions and commands
Develop and evaluate appropriate experimental and statistical methodologies, write standards of procedure to perform those methodologies, and perform quality assurance/quality control procedures
Work independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments.
Address complex technical issues/problems using internal best practices and through collaboration with colleagues.
Develops solutions to technical problems that require deep technical knowledge of military operational physiology research
Effectively communicate with colleagues across multiple areas
Assist other technical staff with tasks and assignments.
Some offsite travel (~20%) may be required for collaboration, presentations, and data collection.
Comply with all required Leidos and Government requirements and complete required certifications and trainings
Support Leidos business development efforts such as contributing subject matter expertise to funding proposals.

Basic Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited US university, or international university of equivalent standard, in biostatistics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
Requires working knowledge of and ability to apply standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques of military operational physiology research and research methods.
Demonstrate broad understanding of human physiology and performance.
Demonstrate an understanding of analysis using a scripting language and principles of reproducible research. Demonstrate knowledge of R and its ecosystem.
Candidates must demonstrate knowledge and experience in processing research data.
Candidates must be a self-starter, act on objectives in an independent manner, demonstrate leadership, work independently in a team, and have the ability to plan and prioritize work.
Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of human subjects research using controlled laboratory-based or field-based settings.
Candidates must demonstrate excellent critical thinking with problem-solving skills and an ability to work cooperatively in a team setting. Flexibility in responding to changing demands, timelines, and priorities is required.

Candidate must demonstrate the ability to extend and apply the knowledge of research to the missions of the NHRC and Navy customer.
The candidate will be required to acquire, at a minimum, a SECRET classification access level.
Due to Federal contract requirements, US citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience designing and implementing experiments with high technical sophistication in military, veteran, or related populations.
Evidence of scientific achievement in the human performance domain is preferred, as demonstrated by the publication of articles and reports, membership in professional scientific organizations, experience in writing and editing technical and scientific research information, and excellent verbal communication skills to confer with professional colleagues/peers.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $63,050.00 - $97,000.00 - $130,950.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
