Job Summary
Responsible for providing clerical assistance with human resources-related assignments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(In addition to the following, other duties may be assigned)
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee data and information.
Maintain Human Resources data including entering, updating, purging and retrieving information and records.
Work with HR data systems and create spreadsheets and reports.
Assists with phone calls, supplies, materials, and schedules.
Provides supervisors with reports, forms, and documentation as required.
Ensures daily filing/organization of personnel-related documents (i.e., grievances, performance reviews, Personnel Action Forms, educational documents, certifications, disciplinary action forms, etc.) ensuring that all confidential information remains secure.
Assists in special assignments/projects.
Assists employees with personnel questions/needs, forwarding to the appropriate human resources department staff person when required.
Responds to phone and in-person inquiries from management, staff, and others including requests for assistance with forms, procedures, supplies, etc.
Maintains strict confidentiality of confidential private personnel data and information and related matters.

Education and/or Experience
Associates degree in human resources or related field and one year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technology Skills
Word processing skills, spreadsheet skills, database skills, electronic presentation skills, web navigation skills, web site design skills, e-mail management skills, computer network knowledge applicable to your department, file management & windows explorer skills, computer-related storage devices (knowledge: disks, CD’s, USB drives, zip disks, DVDs, etc.);
Language Skills
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Reasoning Abilities
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
Local travel is required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Some travel is required.
Mental Fitness
Ability to focus, make clear decisions, use judgement, be stable and can control emotions, remain calm under adversity, ability to handle stress; be able to remain calm and professional in the face of challenging behaviors.
Work Hours
40 hours/week, generally Monday-Friday.
