Position Title: Human Resources Assistant

Department: Human Resources

Reports to: Human Resources Director

Purpose of Position:

This position is responsible for assisting in the daily administrative Human Resources operations for Carevide. The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for functions related to job listings, benefit enrollments, developmental programs, personnel files, employee handbook and credentialing. The incumbent is required to follow federal, state, and company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate all hires and terminations, including advertising, receiving applications, processing forms and employee benefits
  • Assist in the onboarding process by contacting professional references and performing background checks on new potential employees
  • Prepare new job postings and update existing job listings
  • Maintain confidential personnel files and personnel actions
  • Prepare new Employee Handbooks and personnel binders
  • Prepare and maintain file folders for terminated employees
  • Maintain HR calendar by inputting reminders for 90 Day Evaluations and Annual Evaluations, and other events assigned by Human Resources Director
  • Prepare employee service anniversary certifications
  • Process employee benefit enrollments through multiple carriers
  • Responsible for managing Form I-9, both active and achieved employees
  • Administer employee insurance packets
  • Update employee portal monthly: birthdays and anniversaries; and announcements as needed
  • Process unemployment claims
  • Provide employee’s and external companies with employment verifications
  • Assist with training and development program, including employee reward system
  • Credential all licensed and certified employees: request and files application, credentialing documents and supporting material
  • Review and verify licenses and certifications to confirm credentialing qualifications
  • Assist with employee performance programs
  • Update provider’s leave balance through ADP.
  • Maintain working knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations
  • Assist with daily operations of Human Resources functions and duties
  • Answer phones for the Human Resource Department
  • Other duties assigned by the Human Resources Director

This job description shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the above duties. May temporarily perform other duties as assigned to maintain operations and services.

General Qualification and Requirements:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business related field with a minimum of one (1) year related experience. Intermediate knowledge of Human Resources principles and practices is required. Experience with a personal computer and Microsoft Office is also required. Incumbent should also be organized, attentive to details, and possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
