Job Summary
The Human Resources Benefits & Compensation individual will provide compensation, leave, & benefits expertise and support to the Director of Human Resources. This individual will lead compensation and benefit reviews while supporting the Head of HR on implementation. This role will be required to provide general compensation support at the individual level (e.g., commissions, incentives, annual compensation processes) to ensure equity and alignment with compensation practices, and will provide guidance and administration to the Head of Human Resources in areas such as HRIS data administration, reporting, leave management, compliance, budgeting, etc.
Position Responsibilities
Partners with the Head of HR and HR Generalist – Employee Loyalty to develop and implement total reward strategy (compensation, benefits, and recognition) across all markets in alignment with the business strategy- Leads performance framework managing the annual merit, bonus, and promotion cycle
- Works closely with the Head if HR on annual and quarterly budget cycles to deliver on annual budgetary goals
- Facilitates accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, payroll manager, or other appropriate service providers
- Assist with the development and responsible for the execution and communication of all benefit programs, including benefits administration process, vendor management, annual benefits plan strategy and design, annual open enrollments, new hire enrollments, and qualifying events
- Manages the annual renewal processes including collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure benefit offerings are competitive, affordable and in compliance with local and federal regulations
- Conduct external pay studies to ensure salaries are competitive within the industry; conduct internal pay studies to ensure there is no discrimination among employees’ pay rates
- Research and recommend pay structures
- Research and determine “total rewards” programs, such as benefits packages, health and wellness incentives, and monetary recognition awards
- Manage relationships with benefits vendors to develop more robust communications on benefits offerings, in-house presentations, and retention tools such as pension and wellness programs
- Complete records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies
- Monitor administrators’ and insurance carriers’ reports to ensure the organization’s compliance with plan requirements
- Ensure the organizations and plans’ compliance with the applicable provisions of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA
- Maintain knowledge of economic conditions, labor market, and other factors related to ensuring the organization provides competitive and reasonable benefits and compensation scales and structures
- Role may cross over other HR facets to assist their peers for extended periods of time with the mindset of creating an efficient department and the success of the organization
- Measure effectiveness of existing benefits programs, including utilization, employee impact, and cost. Based on analysis, provide recommendations, collaborate with stakeholders, and implement any new offerings
- Administer retirement plans
- Create monthly intranet and email blasts on different benefits offerings
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- In collaboration with IT, manage the configuration, maintenance, enhancement, efficiency, and effectiveness of the HR Information System with respect to managing compensation and benefits
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience in a relevant field- SHRM, PHR or CCP certification preferred
- Experience with compensation work (creating and managing systems and structures to support compensation philosophy and policies)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across the organization
- Strong project management skills, with advanced Excel skills, and solid familiarity with HRIS functionality
- Advanced HRIS knowledge and experience, experience developing and building HRIS reports and data analytics to inform HR business decisions
- Thorough knowledge of compensation benefits, and leave laws, requirements, and best practices. Thorough knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Strong vendor negotiation and management skills

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time in-office position. This position may occasionally flex between shifts depending on business needs.
Pay and Benefits
The starting pay scale for this position is $21.00 - $26.00 hourly. Actual starting pay will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, training, and experience. In addition, the company offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) plan with match, paid time off, and other benefits.
