Job description
As a strategic partner, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) aligns business and functional objectives with employees and management in designated business and functional units. The HRBP serves as a consultant to and partner with management on HR related issues, including all aspects of talent acquisition and retention, workforce planning, performance management, and compliance with federal and state employment law. HRBP will act as an employee champion and change agent. HRBP assesses and anticipates HR related needs. The HRBP formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect the business and functional objectives of the organization and minimizing risk as it relates to employee and supervisor related issues.
Partner with supervisors and managers in all aspects of staffing, including analysis, recruiting and selecting candidates. Actively participates and makes recommendations in regard to salary and rate recommendations, extending offers for new hires and internal promotions and transfers, as well as periodic rate change reviews and Workforce Planning processes.- Provide objective suggestions and solutions to resolve conflict and performance issues at more complex levels; provides guidance in interpreting policies, counseling and assisting supervisors and managers with employee development solutions, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Partner with supervisors and managers to manage and resolve employee relations issues.
- With oversight, conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations in response to complaints internally and externally, including those that involve the DOL, DOHR, EEOC, etc.
- Serve as a point of contact in various crisis situations, coordinating with the Employee Assistance Program and other resources to respond to workplace violence prevention, employee deaths, etc.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase engagement and productivity.
- Conduct or delegate new employee orientations.
- Provide or delegate the provision of documents requested in an audit or legal inquiry.
- Respond to routine inquiries concerning payroll, benefits, personnel policies, employment openings, insurance issues, etc, working with both active and retired employees.
- Actively participate in HR policy development, guidance, and interpretation.
- Actively participates in special projects, acquisitions, and staffing efficiency efforts as needed.
- Maintain compliance with data governance and protocols through all processes.
As an integral member of the Human Resources Department, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the Human Resources Department and the Bank in achieving their annual goals.
Qualifications:Education/Training: Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field of study or equivalent experience.
Skills: Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematical skills; high level of objectivity and confidentiality; problem-solving and ability to prioritize and work under pressure; excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills; proficient PC skills.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Human Resources related position with increasing levels of responsibility.
