JOB SUMMARY:
The Licensed Project Manager is responsible to ensure all HVAC jobs for the state are sold correctly, installed correctly while ensuring proper permits are obtained, and that the completed job passes inspection conducted by local authorities. This role will assist in sourcing sufficient number of Licensed HVAC Contractors to complete the actual installation of the job in a timely manner. The Licensed Project Manager will ensure that all completion paperwork will be received and the job must pass an inspection before the Licensed HVAC Contractor is paid. This role will meet with the Area HVAC Inspector from the state's plumbing and heating board as required. The License Project Manager will also represent the company when required to meet with the state's Plumbing and Heating Board. This role will manage other product lines as assigned.

JOB SCOPE:

The Licensed Project Manager is responsible for maintaining an active Mechanical License assigned to Sears Home Improvement for the required state. This role controls and manages the installation process for Heating, Ventilation and Cooling (HVAC) projects within their assigned area by supporting targeted annual installed volume of 2 million or more annually. The Licensed Project Manager will also work with other product lines as assigned.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises each Home Improvement HVAC project to ensure all required permits are completed and the installation meets necessary state and company compliance requirements
  • Responds to and acts on all inquires from various judicial state, local and regulatory compliance boards and resolves any issues that arise before, during and after the installation process
  • Coordinates with Subcontractors to ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained and are continually maintained per local compliance boards
  • Assigns and schedules only qualified Licensed Independent Contractors for all HVAC jobs partnering with up to 20-25 independent contractors.
  • Reviews the job contract as sold to determine what services can and cannot be done, and is accountable to ensure that all jobs meet the criteria, and non-compliant jobs are returned to the Sales Project Consultant for resolution
  • Supports the installation process by managing customer service-related issues and expenses for all products lines assigned and communicating and resolving contract issues with sales staff to ensure profitable sales
  • Identifies any special requirements in the job and communicates all information to the customer to ensure a seamless process while ensuring independent contractors have the appropriate and current licenses
  • Represents the Company in response to any board inquires or requests for attendance in person hearings
  • Manages all material orders needed to complete jobs and will assist with the loading and unloading of materials for both receipt and return of stock as required
  • Verifies all job completion costs, approves for payment of all contractor labor bills only after the proper inspections have taken place before any contractor is paid.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Technical school degree or equivalent
  • 3-4 years of related experience
  • License/certification in relevant field
  • Valid Driver License for the State of employment
  • Up to 25% travel
  • 18 years of age or older

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Maintain active necessary license requirements assigned to Transform Home Improvement
  • Ability to handle multiple customer issues on a regular basis
  • Ability to work with deadlines/projects
  • Ability to access and maneuver around a customer's property on inconsistent terrain
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift and walk up stairs
  • Strong operational knowledge in at least one product line (HVAC)
  • Excellent organizational skills required by phone and virtual.
  • Ability to establish priorities and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Advanced customer service skills and computer skills
  • Ability to manage warehouse delivery of products/materials and inventory.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Technical School Graduate
  • Construction management experience with extensive knowledge in all aspects of heating and cooling installation and required code compliance for North Carolina.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
