Hyperbaric Tech
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday from 7:30am-4:00pm
Location: Medical City Dallas Hospital

Hyperbaric Tech Job Summary:
- The HBO Tech of the Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine will assume responsibility for the safe and effective operation of the Hyperbaric chambers and supporting components.
- Responsible for operating and maintaining a safe environment for all patients and members of the hyperbaric team during hyperbaric chamber operations.
- Follow all hospital and department operational/emergency policies.
- Responsible for administering hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider. This will include monitoring the patient and hyperbaric chamber equipment throughout each treatment.
- The HBO Technician will routinely assist with wound care under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Clinical duties may include, but not limited to dressing removal and secondary dressing changes, assisting providers with total contact casting, vital signs, and patient intake.
Hyperbaric Tech Job Requirements:
- 1 year experience with Hyperbarics preferred
- Pre or post hire completion of an approved Hyperbaric Oxygen course from an accredited provider.
- Current American Heart Association BLS provider
- Certification as a Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) within two years of hire date preferred.
- Current healthcare professional certification or license as applicable in state of practice. This applies to:
- Respiratory Therapist
- Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic
- Certified Hyperbaric Technologist
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
- Military: Corpsman or Medical Services Specialist
- Certified or Licensed Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician
- Or completion of Hyperbaric Training from US Department of Defense (DOD): i.e. US Navy, US Army or Coast Guard Diver (1st class, 2nd class or Master designation), or US Air Force Aerospace Physiology Specialist
