SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
Performs routine consultative services and technical assistance work. Work involves assisting with planning, developing, and implementing an agency program and providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, government agencies, community organizations, or the public. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position will primarily focus on collaborating with key industry and business partners while engaging with education partners, employers, and economic development organizations to help build alliances and opportunities for the Borderplex region. The Business and Industry Project Manager role will consist of achieving results aligned with WSB's strategic goals. Initiative, passion, and interest in creating a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable workforce are essential.
This position will help build on strengths, address new challenges, and seize opportunities that will advance the Borderplex community. The pace of the work is faster than average, and the ability to learn quickly and thoroughly while continually recognizing and adapting to varying conditions is critical to achieving high business standards and organizational growth goals.
Other Responsibilities:
Performs various technical, training, research, planning, policy, program assessment, and administrative activities related to program assignments. Provides support and collaborates in the organizational program's planning, development, implementation, analysis, and documentation. Serves as a liaison to staff, government agencies, community organizations, or the public to explain program specifics and requirements. Markets program(s) to community and professional groups to encourage and improve interest in the program(s). Monitors and reviews compliance with requirements, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures for the assigned program. Assists with collecting, organizing, analyzing, and preparing materials in response to requests for program information and reports. Assists in providing consultative services and technical assistance for agency programs. Assists with the preparation of administrative reports, studies, and specialized projects. Assists in preparing comprehensive literature reviews, statutes, rules, and policies and reviewing program development to identify areas in need of change and assists with developing plans to improve or address areas of concern. Assist and design and support collaborative partnerships. Assist with grant writing, submission, and oversight.
Depending on organizational need, will:
- Assist in preparing and evaluating program budget requests.
- Assist in labor market research and evaluation
- Assist in preparing justifications for the implementation of procedural or policy changes.
- Assist in developing policy and procedure manuals.
- Assist in analyzing legislation to develop recommendations for policy in programmatic areas relating to the implementation, improvement, and expansion or reduction of program funding.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor's degree in psychology, human resource management, education, business or public administration, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to the program area; public administration techniques, training, and marketing techniques; and program management processes and techniques.
Skill in identifying measures or indicators of program performance and using a computer and applicable software. Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts; devise solutions to problems; market programs; prepare reports; develop, evaluate, and interpret policies and procedures; and communicate effectively.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
Must possess a valid driver's license and meet requirements to be included as an authorized driver on the Workforce Solutions Borderplex Commercial Package Policy as stipulated by the insurance carrier. Successful clearance of local and state background checks.
