STANDARD HOURS: 40 hours per week. Typical hours Monday - Friday 8:00 am -5:00 pm; Flexibility required to include other evening and/or weekend hours, as necessary.
SALARY RANGE: $78,936 - $96,477.70 per year
- Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY
Conduct applied educational and program evaluation research on project-level student success initiatives, high impact educational practices and grant projects by developing evaluation plans and collecting, managing, and analyzing institutional data using multivariate statistical techniques and qualitative methods. Collaborate and work with teams to measure the effectiveness of success initiatives and activities and translate findings into usable information and disseminate via written reports and presentations. Develop programming to extract data from various systems and use business intelligence tools to create interactive reports. Design and administer surveys and focus groups and analyze and report results. Serve on various cross-functional teams at the College. Initially, the main focus of the position will focus on supporting our recently awarded Title III Grant and then transition to other campus projects.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Conduct program evaluation and applied educational research for distribution to internal and external customers.
- Coordinate evaluation activities for multiple educational projects and activities (must have knowledge of various evaluation designs and practices as well as approaches for generating, revising, and prioritizing evaluation questions).
- Create evaluation plans for grant projects, including developing logic models and identifying outputs and outcomes.
- Use program evaluation methodologies, including design, planning, implementation, data analysis, interpretation, and presentation of findings.
- Collect, verify, manage, and analyze data from across the College in support of institutional research related to student success initiatives, projects, practices, and productivity improvements.
- Design and/or administer surveys directly related to project and student success, including identification of target population, sampling, procedures to be used, and development of survey instruments and materials.
- Utilize qualitative research methods (e.g., focus groups, interviews, etc.) and analyze and report qualitative data.
- Develop reports, write SQL queries, and retrieve accurate data from the College’s student information system (PeopleSoft), to include maintaining Institutional Research requests. Plan and incorporate statistical analysis and business analytics as required.
- Respond to individual data requests from internal/external customers, clarifying their requests when needed, and providing them with the appropriate data.
- Identify and analyze factors external to the College that affect student success and educational initiatives. Keep current on promising practices related to evaluation in higher education and share with appropriate College personnel.
- Support Institutional Research activities by developing and maintaining technical documentation including a report library. Validate information and assure data is credible in identifying institutional and market trends, including demographics, occupational information, and other report requirements.
- Translate data into visual documents (e.g., tables, charts, graphs, etc.) and disseminate results in written reports and in-person presentations.
- Assist faculty, staff, and project teams to determine need/justification for projects and initiatives; collaborate to determine data needs of projects, data collection methods and design, and conduct research studies to evaluate effectiveness of projects/initiatives.
- Analyze data, interpretate findings and disseminate results, implications and recommendations through written reports and presentations. Compile and distribute cohort, longitudinal and comparative data related to student and program outcomes and effectiveness.
- Provide guidance and data to Grants Team to determine need and provide justification for projects.
- Collaborate with Informational and Instructional Technology to ensure data used to make decisions are accurate, relevant, and accessible.
- Provide training and technical support to end users of reports, cubes, and dashboards.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or related area, Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum two years related experience.

Computer/Additional Skills
- Microsoft Office Suite, online survey tools, data base systems, and statistical software. Previous experience in PeopleSoft and Microsoft Power BI preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of software tools, including SQL, to extract, clean, analyze and report on data from multiple sources.
- Knowledge of data visualization techniques using Microsoft Power BI or similar tools, to create interactive reports and dashboards that enhance the College’s ability to derive insight from data and answer key business questions.
- Knowledge of advanced statistical analysis using R/SAS/SPSS or similar tools.
