Job description
The Warehouse is responsible for all incoming and outgoing merchandise for this 375+ bed facility as well as stocking and delivery of 625-650 items. All purchase orders must be received electronically using the E-Procurement receiving module before invoices can be paid. Stock items include office supplies, dietary supplies, computer supplies, office furniture, nutritional food supplements, personal comforts, wearing apparel, bedding, linen and textiles, janitorial supplies, other housekeeping supplies, and medical supplies. Requisitions for these stock items are filled and delivered on a weekly basis to 25 campus-based supply rooms. All other merchandise received The through the Warehouse is delivered as received. Complete records must be kept on all items received and distributed so that they can be entered against the stock status report. Audits can be done by State Purchase and Contract, by State Auditors, and by management to verify that all stock is accounted for. The Warehouse also receives work orders on a daily basis to move furniture, offices, or locate specific items needed. The Warehouse also picks up donated items from businesses and/or individuals. Any returned goods or items shipped from JIRDC are packaged by the Warehouse and sent out by UPS, FEDEX or freight as appropriate. Records are kept on these items.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
To receive credit for all of your work history and credentials, you must list the information on the application form. Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess all of the following:
Ability to:
- Work with a team or on an individual basis as needed.
- Operate warehouse equipment (i.e., pallet jack, forklift, hand truck, etc)
- Maintain effective working relationships with other employees
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Conduct manual inventor counts and make rapid and accurate mathematical calculations
- Possession of a valid North Carolina Drivers License (or have the ability to obtain a North Carolina Drivers License if living out of state)
Management Prefers:
- Basic Computer knowledge that includes Word, Outlook, Excel.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and methods of warehouse daily operations with some knowledge of purchasing, and shipping methods and practices.
- One year experience working with some form of Warehouse Inventory System issuing and maintaining the stock at a required level.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift 50-100 lbs on a daily basis.
- Physical strength to lift and move relatively heavy objects (i.e., furniture, beds, etc.)
- Climb up and down from a box truck.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
