Job Summary:
accountable for analysis, administration, and cash positioning and trading for the reserve and pension portfolios for Horizon and its subsidiaries. The position will also be responsible for investment fee budgeting and review of all expenses, as well as banking, broker and external manager relationships. In addition, investment, cash flow, forecasting and working capital portfolio analytics will be performed.
- Evaluate daily cash position and determine cash available for investment
- Coordinate trading, funds transfer and settlement activities
- Assist in the projection and monitoring of investment income on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Assist Senior Investment Analyst in performing portfolio analytics including investment income variance reports, investment fee analysis and reconciliations, and strategic investment assessment
- Perform investment administration duties including but not limited to: completion of all account opening documents for reserve and pension accounts, maintenance and update of investment guidelines, collection and review of SSAE 16's, QIB's, ADV and corporate action forms. Completion of all manager collected OTTI and other investment accounting information requests.
- Payment of management fees and reconciliation of same for reserve and pension portfolios.
- Assist in maintenance of portfolio analytics platform, utilize platform and provide ideas for effective use and business applications of platform
- Perform any other investment or Treasury project analytics ad assigned by Management.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred from an accredited college or university in Finance or Economics & GPA in major of 3.5 or higher
- CFA credential (or desire to sit for CFA exam)
- New college grad OK or 0-2 years' experience in Investments, Financial Analysis, or Treasury Operations
Additional licensing, certifications, registrations:
- CFA or desire to sit for CFA exam in the near future is necessary
- CTP a plus
Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of investment / banking activities
- Knowledge of investment asset classes, trading and investment analytics
- Interest / Enthusiasm in investments, economics, capital markets
- Excel, PowerPoint, Investments Analytics software, SunGard (SunGard a plus)
Skills and Abilities:
- Requires excellent analytical skills
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills
- Requires excellent organizational skills
- Requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision at times
- Requires strong PC skills and ability to develop analytics and reports
