SUMMARY:

The IP Docket Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive docketing services to the firm related to IP prosecution. This position shares responsibility for the integrity, functionality, and stability of the firm’s systems through the accurate entry of vital client and case information into the firm’s docketing system, CPi.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Conducts an in-depth review of incoming and outgoing correspondence received physically and electronically via shared facsimile, mailboxes, public folders, US postal service, couriers, etc.
  • Maintains firm’s docket database (CPi) through accurate entry of application data and due dates
  • Mitigates risk by facilitating firm compliance with docketing policies and protocols
  • Conducts an in-depth docket review of all incoming cases received via the firm’s file intake process for firm specific procedures regarding docket and annuity requirements
  • Researches, stays current and retrieves information utilizing legal rule books (e.g., the MPEP, the TMEP, etc.), the United States Patent and Trademark Office website, Foreign Patent Office Websites, worldwide resources, etc.
  • Seeks clarification of intention where requests do not conform to the firm’s established docket and risk policies and procedures
  • Provides quality assurance and check reviews of docketing tasks
  • Adheres to established work schedule, and exercises flexibility to meet workload demands
  • Process and reviews physical IP-related domestic and foreign mail for docket requirements
  • Performs daily download of USPTO eOffice Actions as required
  • Performs other duties, tasks and projects as assigned

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • A minimum of three to six years (3-6+) of experience in the IP docketing field
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Proficiency in basic computer and database management skills, including Microsoft software applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel · Proficiency with IP software applications such as CPi and IPDAS · Exceptional verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills · Strong time management, prioritization, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively at all firm levels
  • Punctual and reliable and able to meet set deadlines and work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of matters and other firm business information

The expected salary range for this position is $ 79,200 - $102,800 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Wolf Greenfield offers a comprehensive benefits package.
