Primary Responsibilities
- Review and proofread a variety of documents from the USPTO and report those documents directly to the client
- Prepare patent prosecution documents (i.e. new Patent Applications, Continuation Applications, Amendments, Information Disclosure Statements, etc.)
- Communicate directly with clients regarding reporting application related documents
- Monitor and satisfy client specific dockets
- Produce weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reports per clients' instructions
- Research client inquiries and patent specific inquiries
- Maintain client and team specific spreadsheets
- Keep attorneys informed of the status of applications
- Perform research and compile data as request by attorneys
- Update and revise case databases in FileSite and/or the Extranet
- Organize client meetings and events
- Schedule meetings and conferences, including telephone conference calls with multiple outside parties in multiple time zones
- Open new files and maintain all client and general files
- Process bills, proof billing sheets, and review and edit bills
- Enter daily time for attorneys
- Assist with special projects as requested
- Various other tasks as requested/needed
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2+ years’ experience providing intellectual property prosecution support in a law firm environment.
- College degree or comparable paralegal experience is required.
- Ability to meet the Firm’s billable hours requirement while maintaining excellent service and producing consistently high-quality work product that meets or exceeds the Firm’s quality standards.
- Excellent data entry and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and coordinate projects.
- Ability to use good judgment, initiative, and command of resources to accomplish results
- Ability to work well as a team member.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff and to provide information with courtesy and tact.
- Ability to multitask and work independently.
- Flexibility and ability to prioritize a continually changing workload.
- Ability to work well under pressure and be self-motivated.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
