Job Description
Through indirect supervision, performs a variety of skilled maintenance and repairs to existing irrigation systems. Installs new irrigation systems, makes plumbing repairs to restroom buildings and park fountains, performs maintenance and repairs to all other related items as assigned by the Foreperson. Sometimes may supervise full time and seasonal workers. Assists Supervisor in coordinating work in Foreperson’s absence.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Must be able to read and write and maintain accurate paperwork. Must be able to read and understand irrigation blueprints.
- Must have working familiarity with all hand and power tools including saws, drills, grinders, welder, cutting torch, and voltage meter.
- Operates a back-hoe trencher machine, tractor with blade, front loader, and leveler attachments, cement finishing tools, metal and cement cut off saws, torches for soldering, fault locator, roto rooter, skid loader with attachments, all trailers.

Required Qualifications
Minimum experience of completion of the ninth grade from high school with 1-year experience in irrigation repair and installation of manual and automatic systems, preferably in a commercial capacity is required. Must have a valid Class A CDL Texas driver’s license or able to acquire one within 90 days from date of employment.

Physical Demands
Requires considerable walking, bending, and standing with frequent lifting or carrying up to 100 pounds. Frequently works in inclement weather. May be outside on a year round basis.
