As an IT Manager at Federated Insurance, you will provide leadership to an information technology team that is responsible for creating, storing, and distributing corporate insurance documents and web content. The ideal candidate has a passion for using technology to solve business challenges and create a competitive advantage.


This is an in-office position that will work out of our Owatonna, MN office. A work from home option is not available.


Responsibilities

  • Provide Leadership and Vision to Document Management and Document Generation area.
  • Serves as Technology Solution Owner for corporate capabilities encompassing the creating, storing, and distributing corporate insurance documents and web content.
  • Understand business requirements and interpret them into software/hardware requirements, partnering with team members to implement right size solutions.
  • Be knowledgeable on industry trends, influence change, and provide a strategic roadmap for the team and company.
  • Leads, manages, and develops core team members.
  • Works closely with the team to support current and investigate in new technologies.
  • Understand supported technologies at a high level to share insights, recommend improvement opportunities to leaders in the department, and drive change.
  • Manage budget of 1+ million in expenditures.
  • Manages vendor relationships and contracts and performance to agreed-upon outcomes.
  • Understand role of servers, software, and vulnerability management (100+ servers supported).
  • Help lead meaningful transformation in a dynamic and rapidly growing business environment.
  • Facilitate communications between the business users and the technology team to understand changing business needs and priorities.
  • Support planning and developing of company-wide IT strategies.
  • Participates in project/demand technology prioritization for enterprise business capabilities.
  • Own the system implementation, configuration, upgrade and maintenance of technology solutions.
  • Ensure application health within the owned domain; managing upgrades and maintenance processes.
  • Assess application structure, functions, usage along with business processes and provide recommendations to continuously improve efficiency, quality and profitability.


Qualifications

  • Four-year degree with a preferred major in information systems or other computer-related field, data science, mathematics or business; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' leadership experience in Information Technology.
  • Excellent coaching and leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision and as part of a team on collaborative projects.
  • Information technology vendor management experience.
  • Knowledge/experience in content management.
  • An unquestioned ability to retain confidential business and personnel information.
  • Experience in the following areas preferred but not required:
    • Insurance industry experience
    • Experience in Oracle Content Management and Xerox print solutions
    • Experience in Agile methodologies
    • Collaborative and effective at building consensus across the organization
