Job description
Under general direction of the Information Systems Administrator, this individual is responsible for the overall operation, administration and daily maintenance of the organization’s computer systems.
Responsibilities and Duties
1.Assists the Information Systems Administrator in managing the organization’s computer systems. 2.Deploys, troubleshoots and maintains computer software and hardware ensuring proper network connectivity and operation. 3.Oversees the daily performance of the organization’s computer systems. 4.Provides technical support to users. 5.Performs other duties as assigned.

1.Ability to organize and prioritize varied tasks in order to meet deadlines. 2.Ability to exercise judgment in unusual or stressful situations. 3.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. 4.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in a professional manner, 5.Ability to work independently and to keep confidentiality. 6.Knowledge of operating systems, including latest Windows version, Windows NT and UNIX. 7.Knowledge of computer networks including topologies, protocols and telecommunications standards. 8.Knowledge on the proper usage of diagnostic equipment such as voltmeters, amp meters, network cable testers, LAN analyzers, etc. 9.Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office productivity suite, including advanced functions and features of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 10.Ability to communicate with end users, to identify problems, develop solutions, and provide useful support and instruction to help avoid problem recurrence and improve user productivity and satisfaction. 11.Must be able to methodically teach beginners how to use applications software such as Windows, Excel, Word, e-mail, etc. 12.Ability to rapidly learn new programs as may be acquired by the organization in the future, in order to provide support and training to others as appropriate. 13.Must be able to read and understand technical manual. 14.Ability to understand and carry out written or oral instructions. 15.Must keep abreast of new advances in the information technology field. 16.Bilingual English/Spanish. PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Required Education
Training and certification in the Windows environment and client server systems preferred. Associates degree in Computer Science from an accredited college.
Required Experience
Two years experience of full-time paid “hands on” experience in LAN management.
