As a Kaizen Lean Consultant, you will leverage your lean expertise to achieve continuous improvement and transformation across the organization. As a trusted advisor, you will cultivate an environment of problem-solving, decreased burden, and an emphasis on delivering the best possible customer experience. Premera is seeking a skilled Consultant that can facilitate exploration, promote thoughtful action and experimentation and bring out the best ideas in others that lead to systems that ensure continuous improvement.
What you’ll do
- Lead employees at all levels throughout the organization to develop an environment that fosters continuous improvement.
- Translate the theory and science of lean and innovation into practical methods that achieve sustainable results. Integrating process analysis (i.e., Lean principles and quantitative/statistical methods) into problem recognition and correction.
- Work with management to identify key business issues impacting customers and employees, identify key performance indicators, and make them visible in the workplace so all employees can see progress.
- Lead efforts in creating a plan with employees across the organization to develop an environment where problem-solving thrives.
- Provide department-wide education and training on a process improvement approach that focuses on eliminating waste, increasing standardization, and creating value.
- Establish and build strong working relationships by facilitating growth and development for employees in Lean knowledge and skills.
- Prepare for, lead, and facilitate lean events and system developments with internal and external partners, including the design & facilitation of experiments to test improvement hypotheses.
- Work across the organization to share success and create a common practice in how the company works.
What you’ll bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 4 years equivalent work experience (Required).
- 3 years of experience in Lean methods, principles and tools or equivalent methodologies, including a track record of implementing successful improvements and quantifiable record of success (Required).
- Track record of facilitating collaborative solutions to complex problems
- An understanding of adult learning methodologies and teaching techniques
- The ability to influence behavior and direction while leveraging common tools such as Dashboards, Power BI, Value Stream Mapping, Gemba Walks, A3, 3P, Root Cause Analysis, 5S, etc.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
National Salary Range:
$75,200.00 - $127,900.00
National Plus Salary Range:
$85,000.00 - $144,500.00
- National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
