Job Summary

Mentors initial educators as required by Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction PI.34 and provides support to teachers practicing with an emergency license.

Part-time: $30.00/hour

Qualifications

  • Five years successful teaching experience as a fully licensed tenured teacher

  • Two years of experience supporting/mentoring new teachers (formally/informally)

  • Must have a Professional Educator teacher license. Initial/Provisional Educators (teachers, psychologist, social workers) are not eligible for any teacher leader type position until the provisional educator teacher license is converted.

Responsibilities

  • Observes, supports, listens, problem solves and assists initial educators (teachers, psychologists, social workers) in their first three years of teaching.

  • Develops skills and resources of new educators (teachers, psychologists, social workers) through the use of collaborative and facilitative coaching methods.

  • Participates in orientation/training and monthly professional development sessions.

  • Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan.

  • Completes other duties as assigned.
