ABB OPTICAL GROUP, one of the nation’s leading distributors of optical products, is continuing to grow and is hiring team-oriented, long term, career-minded & results orientated individuals who can work in a fast-paced environment as one of our Lab Manufacturing Technicians in multiple departments including Surface, Auto Reflective Coating, Finish, Quality Control, Tracing, and Expediting at our Wood River, IL facility.
As a Lab Manufacturing Technician, you will have the opportunity to train in multiple areas that fit your skillset.
Some potential duties include:
- Become a machine operator and operate state-of-the-art CNC machinery.
- Receive incoming frames and orders to start our manufacturing process.
- Ship lenses and frames to multiple locations across the United States.
- Operate state-of-the-art equipment in thin-film coating processes.
- Assemble multiple types of frames using hand tools. Learn multiple processes for different lens types and manufacturers.
- Learn the quality control process.
- Work safely and quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Learn job skills that last a lifetime and cross-train in additional areas around the lab.
As a Lab Manufacturing Technician, you will be eligible for:

To become a Lab Manufacturing Technician, you will need to:
- Be a team player with a positive attitude who strives to perform at your daily best.
- Have attention to detail, accuracy, repetition, and fine motor skills.
- Be able to stand for most of your shift and work in a fast-paced environment. Be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach throughout your shift.
- Have the ability to occasionally lift up to 25lbs.
