Laboratory Operations Manager Position Summary:
Accountable for staff performance and provision of care within the Department of Laboratory Services. Monitor fiscal and budgetary operations and provide support for the vision and direction of the product/service line. Responsible for ongoing interface and frequent communication with patients, customers, employees and management. Effectively manage change, facilitate innovation and foster teambuilding to provide the highest quality and most cost effective laboratory product possible.
THE LABORATORY OPERATIONS MANAGER CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor (BS, BA) in clinical laboratory sciences area or any related field
Required: National Incident Management System (NIMS) class to be completed within 6 months of position date.
Preferred: Master's in Business, Management, Health Administration or Health related field.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Required: ASCP, NCA or equivalent, which meets CLIA 88 criteria.
Preferred: Specialty areas
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required: 5 years related experience, 5 years supervisory
Skills
Required: Team building, systems thinking, complex problem solving, negotiating and influencing, change and conflict management, data analysis, coaching and mentoring, strategic planning, business strategy development.
Preferred: Basic Human Resources Management, interpersonal communication.
Knowledge
Required: Quality improvement process, related health care practices and standards
Preferred: Regulatory and accreditation.
Technology
Required: Basic computer skills, personal technology tools, and awareness of current use of technology in related field.
Preferred: Advanced computer skills, technology of the specialty
Other
Required: Must be able to transport self to various sites. When using own vehicle, must have valid Arizona drivers' license and proof of insurance that meets the minimum standards set by the state of Arizona.
