- Ability to teach Language Arts Curriculum, Grades 6-8
- Ability to use Cooperative Learning Strategies
- Ability to prepare Integrated Curriculum Plans
- Ability to use a variety of teaching strategies to match student learning styles
- Ability to work in a teaming environment
- Ability to work and teach a diverse student population
- Possess competence in computer and technology skills
- Implement cooperative learning strategies
- Actively participate in data teams
- Use data to make instructional decisions
- Be willing to participate in district and building-wide initiatives, to include data teams, district/building staff development and district literacy
- Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches his/her full potential.
- Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully.
- Other duties as assigned by Principal

- Must be able to stand for a period of time supervising
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs (3 level building)
- Must be able lift/move/push items of 50lbs.
