Job Summary:

Launch Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing the product launch process for new business, part revision changes or production of obsolete parts. On all product launches, the Launch Manager is responsible for coordinating with production, quality and engineering to resolve issues.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review new parts and routings at hand off for obvious problems and if evident, return information to Estimating.
  • Maintain on Launch items with regard to status
  • Issue tooling related RFQ’s for Launch items
  • Work with team to order tooling once design is confirmed, perform PPAP, and ensure all the tools required by DTMP and its customers are in place to consistently produce a quality part in production
  • Maintain computer records on tooling status, procurement costs and other information
  • Maintain Project status in MRP system
  • Perform several functions in MRP system, such as release and maintenance of work orders, engineering changes, linking of necessary documents so they are available to MRP users, etc.
  • Communicate with customers regarding information on Launch parts such as PPAP/ISIR status, request updated due dates as needed, and deviation requests as needed
  • Work with Scheduling to assist in the determination of work order priority
  • Work with Quality to assist in the determination of Launch project priority so that the needed Quality documents and measurements can be completed in a timely manner
  • Create and link new product documentation including set-up sheets, recording forms and other supporting work instructions.
  • Submit customer required documentation for all PPAPs and ISIRs
  • Package and schedule shipping for PPAP parts when required by the customer
  • Support production system requirements
  • Support initiatives on customer certification programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications (Required)

  • At least 18 years of age (required at all locations)
  • High School diploma or GED (required at all locations)
  • Experience in PPAP or ISIR submittal
  • 3 years in manufacturing

Job Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Associate’s degree in STEM field

Physical Requirements of the Job:

  • Frequent walking, standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting and lifting for 8-12 hours per day
  • Able to frequently walk, stand, kneel, squat, bend, stoop, push, pull, twist and lift for 8-12 hours per day
  • Able to work in non-climate-controlled and noisy environment
  • Frequent overhead reaching and reaching with both hands
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or maneuvering loads up to 50 lbs
  • Able to wear and tolerate Personal Protective Equipment (apparel and devices)
  • Vision acuity, corrected or uncorrected, capable of reading documents, blueprints, gauges, equipment settings, calibration instruments, parts labels and written materials
  • Reliable to come to work every day and be on-time
  • Flexible work availability, including Overtime during the week and weekends
