Layout, assemble and pack Exit Devices
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Plan layout of parts or assemblies from production schedules and knowledge of stock on hand. Replenish parts from storage as necessary. Fill out shortage tickets as necessary for parts in short supply. Select layout from orders or folios.
2. Receive and sort incoming goods and stock in bins according to type and finish.
3. Maintain schedule dates by expediting production orders through various departments and operations for processing on promised dates.
4. Assemble components, cassettes, sub-assemblies, and trim manually or by machine by operating such equipment as drill presses, arbor presses, riveters, tapping machines, cut- off presses, and fixtures. Remove burrs as necessary.
5. Utilize various manual hand tools, air screwdrivers, mallets, gages, pliers, taps, brushes, files, hammers and key wrenches.
6. Determine malfunctions and make repairs on returned goods and rejected assemblies.
Inspect & test for function and finish as required. Check product quality to standards and frequencies described in work instructions. Notify supervision when quality requirements cannot be met. File parts as necessary.
7. Make out labels, special labels and/or markings and apply as necessary.
8. Wrap, pack, make boxes for, and label all Fire Exit Bolt components, cassettes, sub- assemblies, and trim as required. Prepack screws and other parts.
9. Utilize all necessary packing equipment.
10. Maintain all required records including maintaining files of completed orders, finished stock production and delivery tickets. Perform all related clerical work. Use data entry equipment and/or barcode scanners in performance of the job.
11. Segregate and identify non-conforming material by completing reject tickets and moving material to designated area. Fill out move ticket or storage tickets and record movements as necessary. Move completed work to other areas in the performance of the job.
12. Read and interpret folios, customer orders, tickets, tags, blueprints, sketches, and operation sheets as required. Transport work to and from work place in the performance of the job. Maintain supply of required parts. Transport material with hand cart to and from various departments and within the department as required.
13. Job requires knowledge of department procedures, stock on hand and capacity of various machines and assembly locations. Involves working in close contact with other personnel from various departments for special attention to urgently needed parts.
Educational Requirements, Skills and Abilities:
1. Be knowledgeable of, and conform to, plant safety rules and regulations.
2. Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
3. Requires a high school or trade school diploma or equivalent manufacturing work experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.29 - $22.33 per hour
