Easterseals New Jersey is currently seeking Lead Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) with a true passion for helping others by enriching the lives of people living with developmental disabilities and special needs within your community.

What will you do?
  • The Lead Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports the Residential Manager to ensure that the residential environment operates cohesively and provides those who live within the residence the opportunity to experience a quality of life through support and advocacy.
  • Functions as mentor to ensure that all team members are supporting residents within a person-centered approach.
  • Serves as the point of contact regarding all consumer’s individual needs in the residential environment when the manager is not available.
  • Supports the Residential Manager in the implementation of all regulatory standards that meet the rights of the individuals supported by assisting in the daily operations within the group home residence.
Job Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • A high school diploma or the equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to drive large vehicles such as Busettes and 12-passenger vans (ambulatory and non-ambulatory).
  • Planning and organizational skills are necessary to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication utilizing the English language.
  • Problem-solving skills & listening skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff, persons receiving services, families and the general public.
  • Working knowledge of various computer software programs.
