INLAND TECHNOLOGIES IS HIRING A LEAD EQUIPMENT OPERATOR TO JOIN OUR NEWARK, NJ TEAM
PAY: $22/hr | TYPE: Full Time | SHIFTS: Varies


OVERVIEW:
This position will work as part of a team to provide superior service and stakeholder satisfaction through responsibility for the safe and efficient operation and preservation of equipment utilized for the purpose of tasks related to Glycol Recovery Vehicles and processing, while ensuring the well-being of self and all internal and external stakeholders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assign duties and monitor performance of Equipment Operators to ensure work is completed according to standard operating procedures;
  • Ensure optimum equipment performance through regular equipment inspections;
  • Ensure full communication with next shift regarding current state of processing equipment;
  • Professionally operate and maintain the company’s Recovery and Processing Equipment including the Glycol Concentrator;
  • Assist in the training of all operators in the proper Recovery and Processing Equipment operational procedures and inform the site supervisor immediately of any deficiencies in Recovery and Processing Equipment operation, daily inspections and daily paperwork submitted by all operators;
  • Ensure all operators perform daily Recovery Equipment walk-arounds before operation: focusing on lights, spray bar, emulsifying agent, chassis, pick-up head, debris tank, dumping controls, axial separators, valve positions, vehicle and auxiliary engines, and inside controls;
  • Perform, and instruct operators with light maintenance tasks on Recovery and Processing Equipment, and to immediately report any major repair requirements;
  • Perform, and instruct operators with tank inventory and/or storm preparedness operations, (i.e., drain and valve operations, etc.);
  • Routinely inspect de-icing surfaces while on shift and promptly collect or dispatch the appropriate number of operators to collect spent aircraft de-icing fluid (ADF) well before the risk of fluid escape (when needed).
  • Routinely inspect tanks, plumbing, filtration, pumping systems while on shift, and promptly repair and advise Supervisor of all actions required;
  • Empty the debris tank into Inland’s storage vessels well before the risk of overfill;
  • Oversee the daily tracking and recording of fluids processed;
  • Assist with the glycol recycling processes, including concentrator and sanitary machine operations;


MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience overseeing the work of others;
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft and how they perform;
  • Ability to read, write, speak and communicate effectively in English;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task;
  • Ability to interpret documents including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals;
  • Ability to safely operate a motorized vehicle in inclement weather;
  • General mechanical competence and ability to effectively use hand tools;
  • Ability to remain calm and perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Valid driver’s license;

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

  • MVR Infeed rate LPH/Volume;
  • MVR Output volumes or percentages;
  • Distillation infeed rate;
  • Distillation output percentages;
  • Polishing infeed rate LPM.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
When the Operations Manager is not on site the Equipment Operators will report to the Lead Operator.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a combination of working in an indoor office working environment and working outside in different weather conditions i.e. frequent exposure to prevalent weather conditions, etc.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

  • This is a full-time position with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week.
  • The schedule will consist of shift work as a mandatory requirement which means the employee must be flexible and able to work evenings, weekends and days.

TRAVEL:
No anticipated travel is associated with this position.
